Silverfish - Silverfish are one of the oldest insect species on Earth. They have been around for over 400 million years, predating dinosaurs, Silverfish are fascinating insects, primarily known for their silvery appearance and quick, fish-like movements.
 
Nocturnal Creatures: 
  • Silverfish are nocturnal, meaning they are most active at night. 
  • This is when they come out to feed and move about.
Moisture-Loving: 
  • These insects thrive in humid environments, often found in bathrooms, basements, and kitchens. 
  • They are especially attracted to damp, warm places.
Long Lifespan:
  •  Silverfish can live quite long for insects. In ideal conditions, they can live up to 8 years!
Diet: 
  • They have a diet primarily composed of carbohydrates such as sugars and starches.
  • Silverfish eat items like paper, book bindings, glue, wallpaper paste, and even clothing made from cotton, silk, or linen.
